Sözlükte nodalitenin ilk tanımı, bir düğüm, şişme veya topuz olma veya bununla ilgili nitelik veya durumdur. Nodalitenin diğer tanımı, yaprakları veya yan dalları büyüten bir bitki kökünün bulunduğu veya bu bitki kökünün bulunduğu yere ilişkin kalite veya durumtur.
