Doğrusal olmayan sistem
Fizik ve diğer bilimlerdeki doğrusal olmayan sistem, doğrusal bir sistemin aksine, süperpozisyon ilkesini karşılamayan bir sistemdir - yani doğrusal olmayan bir sistemin çıktısının girdi ile doğru orantılı olmadığı anlamına gelir. Matematikte, doğrusal olmayan bir denklem sistemi, bilinmeyenlerin birinden daha yüksek derecedeki bir polinomun değişkenleri olarak veya birinci dereceden bir polinom olmayan bir fonksiyonun argümanı olarak görünen bir eşzamanlı denklem kümesidir. Başka bir deyişle, doğrusal olmayan bir denklem sisteminde, çözülecek denklem bilinmeyen değişkenlerin veya onun içinde görünen fonksiyonların doğrusal bir birleşimi olarak yazılamaz. Doğrusal olmayan bilinen fonksiyonların denklemlerde görünüp görünmeyeceği önemli değildir. Özellikle, diferansiyel denklem, bilinmeyen fonksiyon ve türevleri bakımından doğrusal ise doğrusaldır, hatta içinde görünen diğer değişkenler açısından doğrusal değildir. Tipik olarak doğrusal olmayan bir sistemin davranışı, doğrusal olmayan bir denklem sistemi ile tanımlanır.
