Origen
Origen veya Origen Adamantius, doğmuş ve kariyerinin ilk yarısını İskenderiye'de geçiren bir bilim adamı ve erken Hıristiyan bir teologdu. Metinsel eleştiri, İncil Tefsiri ve Hermeneutik, felsefi teoloji, vaaz ve maneviyat da dahil olmak üzere birçok ilim dalında üretken bir yazardı. Ruhların varlığı, belki şeytanın da dahil olduğu tüm canlıların nihai uzlaşması ve Tanrı'nın Oğlu'nun Baba Tanrısı'na boyun eğdirilmesi gibi tanınmış öğretilerinden bazıları daha sonra Hıristiyan teologlar arasında tartışmalı olmuştur. Origen, meşhur "Origenists" Didymus the Blind ve Evagrius Ponticus ile birlikte, 553'te İstanbul Konferansı İkinci Konsey tarafından anathez ilan edildi. Bu nedenle Origen, Katolik kiliseleri ya da Ortodoks kiliseleri tarafından hiçbir zaman kutsanamazdı.
