Papirüs
Papyrus / pəpaɪrəs / papyrus / papirüs bitkisinin pith'inden ince kağıt benzeri bir malzeme olan Cyperus papyrus, bir zamanlar Sudan Sudd'ta Mısır'ın Nil Deltası'yla birlikte bol miktarda bulunan sulak alan bir kuşaktır. Papirüsün ilk kez eski Mısır'da kullanıldığı biliniyor, ancak Akdeniz bölgesi ve Kush Krallığı'nda da kullanılıyordu. Eski Mısırlıların papirüsü yazı malzemesi olarak kullandığı ve bunun yaygın olarak kamış kamışları, paspaslar, ip, sandaletler ve sepetler gibi diğer eserler inşaasında kullandığı düşünülmektedir.
