Peripatetik okul Antik Yunan'da bir felsefe okulu idi. Onun kurucusu olan Yunan filozofu, Aristo ve Peripatetik türetilen öğretileri, takipçilerine verilen addır. Okul ilk başlarda Peripatos adını, üyelerinin buluştuğu Atina'daki Lyceum'un peripatosundan türetmiştir. Benzer bir Yunanca kelime olan peripatetikos, yürüme eylemine atıfta bulunur ve sıfat olarak, "peripatetik" genellikle gezici, dolaşır, kıvrımlı veya yürümek anlamına gelir. Aristo'nun ölümünden sonra, bir "peripatetik" öğretim görevlisi - onun öğrettiği gibi yürüdüğü - ve Peripatetikos adı Peripatos'u değiştirmek için geldiği bir efsane ortaya çıktı. Okul, Aristo'nun Lyceum'da öğretmeye başladığı M.Ö. 335 yıllarından kalma tarihtir. Üyeler, felsefi ve bilimsel araştırmalar yürüten gayriresmi bir kurumdu. Aristo'nun halefleri Theophrastus ve Strato, felsefi ve bilimsel teorileri keşfetme geleneğini sürdürdü, ancak M.Ö. 3. yüzyılın ortalarından sonra okul çöktü ve Roma dönemine kadar bir canlanma var değildi.
