Kutup pozisyonu
Motorsports'ta kullanılan "kutup konumu" terimi, motorlu taşıtın ve şoförünün, şebekenin başlangıç bölümündeki ızgaranın önünde bulunduğu konumdur. Bu sürücüye polesitter denir. Izgara konumu genellikle sürücülerin en hızlı turu ayarlamaya çalıştıkları ayrı bir eleme oturumu veya önceki yarıştaki konumlarına göre belirlenir. Farklı motor sporları serileri, hangi sürücünün kutup konumundan başlayabileceğini belirlemek için farklı formatlar kullanır.
