Bir polemik / pəlɛmɪk / belirli bir anlayışın doğruluğunu ve karşıt konumun sahtelikliğini ortaya koymak için tartışmalı bir argümandır. Polemikler çoğunlukla tartışmalı konular hakkında yapılan tartışmalarda görülür. Bu tartışmaların sanat veya uygulaması polemik olarak adlandırılır. Genellikle polemik yazan veya polemik konuşan bir kişi polemikçi veya polemiktir. Sözcük, πόλεμος "savaş" dan gelen "savaşçı, düşmanca" anlamına gelen Yunan πολεμικός türetilmiştir.
