POLYACID SÖZCÜĞÜ İNGILIZCE DİLİNDE NE ANLAMA GELİR?
Asit
Bir asit, sulu solüsyonlarının ekşili bir tada, mavi litmus kırmızısına dönüşebilme özelliğine ve tuzlar oluşturmak üzere bazlar ve bazı metallerle reaksiyona girebilme özelliği ile karakterize edilen bir kimyasal maddedir. Asitlerden oluşan sulu solüsyonlar 7'den daha düşük bir pH değerine sahiptirler. Daha düşük bir pH daha yüksek asitlik ve dolayısıyla solüsyondaki daha yüksek hidrojen iyon konsantrasyonu anlamına gelir. Kimyasallar veya asit özelliğine sahip olan maddelerin asidik olduğu söylenir. Asitlerin genel örnekleri hidroklorik asit, asetik asit, sülfürik asit ve tartarik asittir. Bu örneklerin gösterdiği gibi, asitler çözeltiler veya saf maddeler olabilir ve katı maddelerden, sıvılardan veya gazlardan türetilebilir. Güçlü asitler ve bazı konsantre zayıf asitler aşındırıcıdır, ancak karboranlar ve borik asit gibi istisnalar vardır. Asitler için üç ortak tanım vardır: Arrhenius tanımı, Brønsted-Lowry tanımı ve Lewis tanımı.
