Pozisyonel gösterim veya yer-değeri gösterimi sayıları temsil etmek veya kodlamak için kullanılan bir yöntemdir. Pozisyonel gösterim, farklı sembol dereceleri için aynı sembolü kullanması nedeniyle diğer notasyonlardan ayırt edilir. Bu büyük ölçüde basitleştirilmiş aritmetik, gösterimin dünyaya yayılımına neden oldu. Bir basma noktası kullanıldığında, gösterim kesirler ve gerçek sayıların sayısal açılımlarını içerecek şekilde genişletilebilir. Babil sayı sistemi, taban-60, geliştirilen ilk konumsal sistemdi ve bugün hala zaman ve açıları saymak için kullanılmaktadır.
