Protozoa, tek hücreli ökaryotik organizmaların çeşitlilik gösteren bir gruptur ve bunların çoğu hareketlidir. Tarihsel olarak, protozoonlar, hareket veya yani hareketlilik gibi hayvan benzeri davranışlara sahip tek hücreli protistler olarak tanımlandı.
