Yağmur damlası, iç yüzeyinde helezon şeklinde küçük pimler veya dikenler bulunan küçük çakıl taşları ya da fasulye ile kısmen dolu uzun, içi boş bir borudur. Çubuklar sopa yukarıya kaldırıldığında tüpün diğer ucuna düşer ve düşen yağmuru anımsatan bir ses çıkarır. Hornbostel-Sachs sınıflandırma sisteminde 112.1 + 133.1 olarak belirtilmiştir. Yağmur dikişinin Aztekler tarafından icat edildiğine inanılıyor ve yağmur fırtınalarına yol açabileceği inancında oynanıyordu. Yağmurluklar genellikle birkaç kaktüs türünün herhangi birinden yapılır. Boş olan kaktüsler güneş altında kurutulur. Omurgalar çıkarılır, daha sonra kaktüs tırnakları gibi sürülür.
