Rangoli
Kolam veya Muggu olarak da bilinen Rangoli, Hindistan renkli bir pirinç, kuru un, renkli kum veya çiçek yaprakları gibi malzemeler kullanarak oturma odaları veya avluda zemin üzerinde desenler yaratılmış bir halk sanatidir. Genellikle Diwali, Onam, Pongal ve diğer Hint festivallerinde yapılır. Bunların, Hindu tanrılarına kutsal konukseverlik alanları olması gerekiyor. Antik semboller her kuşaktan diğerine geçerek, hem sanat biçimini hem de geleneği yaşatarak geçti. Benzer Hint devletlerinde de benzer uygulamalar izleniyor: Tamil Nadu'da Tamil Nadu'da Kolam var; Rajasthan'daki Mandana; Chhattisgarh'daki Chaookpurna; Batı Bengal'de Alpana; Bihar'daki Aripana; Utowa Pradesh'de Chowk pujan; Andra Pradeş'teki Muggu ve diğerleri. Rangoli'nin amacı süslemedir ve iyi şansı getirdiği düşünülmektedir. Tasarım tasvirleri, gelenekleri, folkloru ve her alana özgü uygulamaları yansıttığından değişebilir. Geleneksel olarak kadınlar tarafından yapılır. Genel olarak, bu uygulama, festivaller, uğurlu gözlemler, evlilik kutlamaları ve benzeri kilometre taşları ve toplantıları gibi durumlarda sergilenmektedir.
