Fizikte, kızarma, bir nesneden gelen ışık veya diğer elektromanyetik ışınım dalga boyunda arttığında veya spektrumun kırmızı ucuna kaydırıldığında gerçekleşir. Genel olarak, radyasyonun görünür spektrumda olup olmadığı "kırmızı", dalga ve kuantum ışık teorilerine göre sırasıyla daha düşük frekansa ve daha düşük bir foton enerjisine eşdeğer olan dalga boyundaki artış anlamına gelir.
