Rhodesia
Resmi olarak Rhodesia Cumhuriyeti 1970'den 1979'a kadar olan Rodosia, Soğuk Savaş döneminde Güney Afrika'da bulunan tanınmayan bir devletti. 1965'ten 1979'a kadar, şimdi Zimbabwe olarak bilinen bölgeyi oluşturuyordu. Salisbury'deki başkenti olan ülke, eski İngiliz Rodos Denizi kolonisine fiilen bir halef devleti olarak görülüyordu. Rhodesia çoğunlukla beyaz hükümet, siyah çoğunluk kuralına anında geçişini erteleme çabasıyla 11 Kasım 1965'de Birleşik Krallık'tan Tek Taraflı Bağımsızlık Bildirgesi'ni yayınladı. UDI yönetimi başlangıçta Uluslar Topluluğu Topluluğu'nda özerk bölge olarak tanınmaya çalıştı ancak 1970 yılında bir cumhuriyet olarak kuruldu. Rhodesian başkanı Ian Smith, iki rakip Afrikalı milliyetçi örgütle savaşan acımasız bir gerilla savaşı sonrasında 1978'de biracial demokrasiyi kabul etti. Ancak daha sonra Smith ve onun ılımlı meslektaşı Abel Muzorewa'nın başkanlık ettiği geçici bir hükümet, uluslararası eleştirmenler veya kan dökülmesini durdurmak.
