RSS; Başlangıçta RDF Site Özeti; sıklıkla güncellenen bilgileri yayınlamak için standart web besleme biçimleri ailesini kullanan: Blog girişleri, haber başlıkları, ses, video, Really Simple Syndication olarak adlandırılır. Bir RSS belgesi, tam veya özetleştirilmiş metin ile yayınlanma tarihi ve yazarın adı gibi meta verileri içerir. RSS yayınları, yayıncıların veriyi otomatik olarak sendikalaştırmasını sağlar.
