Aziz, istisnai bir kutsallık derecesine sahip olduğu için tanınan kişidir. "Aziz" İngilizcesi terimi Hıristiyanlığa dayansa da, din tarihçileri artık birçok dinin belirli insanlara özgü olduğu özel kutsallığı ifade etmek için "daha genel bir şekilde" terimini kullanıyorlar. Yahudiler Tzadik, İslam Mu'cıları, min, Hindu rishi veya guru, Budist arhat veya bodhisattva da aziz olarak anılır.
