Bilgisayar bilimlerinde, veri saklama alanı bağlamında seri hale getirme, veri yapılarını veya nesne durumunu, daha sonra aynı veya başka bir bilgisayar ortamında saklanıp yeniden oluşturulabilen bir forma çevirme işlemidir. Ortaya çıkan bit dizisi seri hale getirme biçimine göre yeniden okunduğunda, orijinal nesnenin semantik olarak aynı klonunu oluşturmak için kullanılabilir.
