Yumuşak emtia
Yumuşak bir emtia kahve, kakao, şeker, mısır, buğday, soya fasulyesi ve meyve gibi bir maldır. Bu terim genellikle, mayınlı olmaktan ziyade yetiştirilen emtialar anlamına gelir. Yumuşak emtia, vadeli işlem piyasasında önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Bunlar, mahsullerin gelecekteki fiyatlarını, ürünlerin ticari alıcıları ve kazanç isteyen spekülatif yatırımcılar tarafından kilitlenmek isteyen çiftçiler tarafından kullanılırlar. Bazen yumuşak terim, kahve, kakao, şeker, pamuk ve portakal suyu gibi başta tropikal olarak tanımlanan ürünlerle sınırlıdır. Yumuşak metaların, vadeli işlemlerin aktif olarak ticareti yapılan 1990'ların sonuna kadar gerileme eğilimi benimsediği bilinmektedir. Spekülasyon ve yatırım gereksinimleri daha sonra ortak contango trendini şekillendirdi.
