Tıbbi ultrasonografi
Teşhis sonografisi olası patoloji veya lezyonlar için tendon, kas, eklemler, damarlar ve iç organlar dahil olmak üzere vücut yapılarını görselleştirmek için kullanılan ultrason tabanlı bir tanılama görüntüleme yöntemidir. Hamilelerin ultrasonla incelenmesine obstetrik sonografi denir ve yaygın olarak kullanılır. Fizikte 'ultrason', insanlara duyulacak frekansları çok yüksek olan ses dalgalarını ifade eder. Ultrason görüntüleri, ultrason transdüseri kullanarak dokuya ultrason darbesi göndererek yapılır. Ses, doku parçalarını yansıtır ve yansıtır; bu yankı kaydedilir ve operatöre bir görüntü olarak gösterilir. Ultrason kullanılarak birçok farklı görüntü şekli oluşturulabilir.
