Türler
Biyolojide, bir tür, biyolojik sınıflandırmanın ve taksonomik rütbenin temel birimlerinden biridir. Bir türün sıklıkla, melezleme ve verimli yavrular üretebilen en büyük organizma grubu olarak tanımlanır. Pek çok durumda bu tanım yeterli olsa da, tür tanımlama zorluğu tür problemi olarak bilinir. DNA'nın benzerliği, morfolojisi veya ekolojik niş gibi farklı ölçütler sıklıkla kullanılır. Yerel olarak uyarlanmış spesifik özelliklerin varlığı, türleri, alttürler gibi "infraspecific taxa" ya da alt sınıflara ayırır. Aynı atalara sahip olduğu hipotezine tabi tutulan türler benzerliklere dayalı olarak bir cins içine yerleştirilir.
