Dikiş
Dikiş, bir iğne ve iplik kullanılarak yapılan dikişleri kullanarak nesnelerin tutturulması veya bağlanması zanaatidir. Dikiş, Paleolitik Çağ'da ortaya çıkan en eski tekstil sanatlarından biridir. Arkeologlar, iplik veya dokuma kumaşını icat etmeden önce, Avrupa ve Asya'daki Taş Devri insanlarının kemik, boynuz ve fildişi iğneleri ve kemikler, katgütler ve damarlar dahil olmak üzere çeşitli hayvan vücudu parçalarından yapılmış "iplik" kullanarak kürk ve cilt giysileri diktiğine inanmaktadırlar. Binlerce yıldır, tüm dikiş elle yapıldı. 19. yüzyılda dikiş makinesinin icadı ve 20. yüzyılın sonundaki bilgisayarlığın yükselişi dikilmiş nesnelerin seri üretimine yol açtı, ancak el dikişi dünyada hala uygulanmaktadır.
