STRAUS SÖZCÜĞÜ İNGILIZCE DİLİNDE NE ANLAMA GELİR?
Strauss
Strauss, Strauß veya Straus, ortak bir Germen soyadidir. Almanya ve Avusturya dışındaki Strauß her zaman Strauss'tan söz eder. Strauss adını kullanan aileler, hem Yahudi hem de Gentil Germen kökenli genetik açıdan çeşitlilik gösteren bir grup grubunu temsil etmektedir. Adı, Germen bölgesindeki aileler tarafından en az 1000 yıl kullanılmaktadır. Mesela Gröna'nın zahiri, Struz ismi ile gitti ve bir devekuşunun imajını sembolü olarak kullandı. Buna örnekler o kasabanın 1000 yıllık kilise çanında hala görülebilir. "Struz" ya da "Strutz", "Devekuşu" için modern Almanca kelimesi olan "Strauss" kelimesinin Kuzey-Alman formudur. Adın en eski Yahudi taşıyıcılarından bazıları, yaşadıkları evlerin adları ile ailelerin bilinen ortaçağ Frankfurt'taki Judengasse'den selamladı. Tüm evlerin isimleri vardı ve bunların arasında cephede bir devekuşu imgesi bulunan Haus Strauss vardı. Vergi maksadıyla Napolyon 1808 yılında soyadını zorunlu hale getirdiğinde, daha fazla Yahudi ailesi Straus adını kabul etmeye karar verdi.
