Synchrocyclotron
Bir synchrocycotron, parçacıkların hızı ışık hızına yaklaşmaya başladığında, rasgele etkileri telafi etmek için sürüş RF elektrik alanının frekansının değiştirildiği, Edwin McMillan tarafından patentlenmiş siklotronun özel bir türüdür. Bu, bu frekansın sabit olduğu klasik siklotronun aksine. Senkroniklotron ve klasik siklotron arasında iki önemli farklılık vardır.
