Yörünge dönemi, belirli bir nesnenin başka bir nesne etrafında bir tam yörünge oluşturması için geçen zamandır. Astronomide daha fazla vasıf olmadan bahsedildiğinde, bu, yıldızlara göre hesaplanan astronomik bir nesnenin sade döngüsünü ifade eder. Sinodik dönem, Güneş'in etrafında yörüngede dolanan Dünya'ya bağlı olarak sidereal dönemden farklıdır.
