Sözdizimi
Dilbilimde, sözdizimi "belirli dillerde cümlelerin kurulduğu ilke ve süreçlerin incelenmesi" dir. Disipline atıfta bulunmanın yanı sıra, sözdizimi terimi, doğrudan herhangi bir dilin cümle yapısını düzenleyen kurallara ve ilkelere doğrudan başvurmak için kullanılır. Sözdiziminde yapılan modern araştırmalar, dilleri bu tür kurallar çerçevesinde tanımlamaya çalışmaktadır. Bu disiplindeki birçok profesyonel, bütün doğal dillere uygulanan genel kuralları bulmaya çalışmaktadır. Sözdizimi terimi, mantıksal olarak kullanılan biçimsel diller gibi, matematiksel sistemlerin davranışlarını düzenleyen kurallara atıfta da kullanılır.
