Synthon
Retrosentetik analizde, bir sintiyon olası bir sentetik işlemle ilgili bir molekül içindeki yıkıcı bir birimdir. Terim 1968'de E.J. tarafından üretildi. Corey. 1988'de "sözcük sintonu artık retrosentetik parçalanma yapıları yerine sentetik yapı taşı anlamına" geldiğini kaydetti. 1998'de Corey'in 1981'de yayınladığı The Chemical Material of The Logic of Index'in endekste yer almadığı için bu cümlenin belirgin bir biçimde yer almadığı belirtildi.
