Terpinol genellikle bu izomerlerin bir karışımıdır ve ana bileşen olarak alfa-terpineol kullanılır. Terpinoller: alfa-, beta-, gamma- ve 4-terpineol izomer Terpineol, lilaya benzer hoş bir kokuya sahiptir ve parfüm, kozmetik ve lezzette ortak bir bileşentir. α-terpineol, lapsang souchong çayının en bol aroma unsurlarından biridir; α-terpineol çayı kurutmak için kullanılan çam dumanlarından kaynaklanır.
