Tetrahidrokannabinol (THC) veya daha esas itibarı ile ana izomer (-) - trans-Δ9-tetrahidrokanabinol ((6aR, 10aR) -delta-9-tetrahidrokanabinol), esrar bitkisinin başlıca psikoaktif bileşenidir (veya kanabinoiddir). Bir aromatik terpenoid olan THC, suda çok düşük bir çözünürlüğe sahiptir, ancak çoğu organik çözücüye, özellikle lipidlere ve alkollere iyi çözünürlüğe sahiptir.
