Nötron sıcaklığı
Nötron enerjisi olarak da adlandırılan nötron saptama sıcaklığı, genellikle elektron voltlarında verilen serbest bir nötron kinetik enerjiyi gösterir. Isı terimi kullanılır çünkü sıcak, termal ve soğuk nötronlar belirli bir sıcaklıkta bir ortamda hafifletilir. Daha sonra nötron enerjisi dağılımı, termal hareket için bilinen Maxwellian dağılımına uyarlanmıştır. Nitel olarak, sıcaklık yükseldikçe, serbest nötronun kinetik enerjisi o kadar yüksek olur.
