Tomografi
Tomografi, herhangi bir penetran dalganın kullanımı yoluyla kesitlere veya kesitlere göre görüntülemeye atıfta bulunur. Tomografide kullanılan bir cihaz tomograf olarak adlandırılırken, üretilen görüntü bir tomografidir. Bilgisayarlı tomografik tarayıcı olarak Tomografi Sir Godfrey Hounsfield tarafından keşfedildi ve bu nedenle tıbba istisnai bir katkı yaptı. Yöntem radyoloji, arkeoloji, biyoloji, atmosferik bilim, jeofizik, oşinografi, plazma fiziği, materyal bilimi, astrofizik, kuantum bilgisi ve diğer bilimlerde kullanılmaktadır. Çoğu durumda, tomografik rekonstrüksiyon denilen matematiksel prosedüre dayanır.
