Transputer
Transputer 1980'lerin öncü bir mikroişlemci mimarisi idi, paralel hesaplama için tasarlanmış entegre bellek ve seri iletişim bağlantıları vardı. Bristol, İngiltere merkezli bir yarı iletken şirket olan Inmos tarafından tasarlanmış ve üretilmiştir. 1980'lerin sonlarında birçoğu, bilgisayarın geleceği için bir sonraki harika tasarım olan çevirmen olduğunu düşünüyorlardı. Inmos ve transputer nihai olarak bu beklentiyi yaşamamış olsa da, bilgisayar mimarisinde yeni sistemler geliştirmede etkili olan transputer mimarisi, modern sistemlerde birçoğu farklı biçimlerde ortaya çıktı.
