Turing testi, bir makinenin bir insana eşdeğer veya ondan ayırt edilemeyen akıllı davranış sergileme becerisinin testidir. Orijinal illüstrasyon örneğinde, bir insan yargıcı bir insan ve bir insandan ayırdedilemez bir performans üretmek üzere tasarlanmış bir makine ile doğal dilde konuşmalar yürütmektedir.
