Mineraloji ve kristalografide bir kristal yapı, kristalin bir sıvı veya katı içindeki atomların veya moleküllerin eşsiz bir düzenidir. Bir kristal yapı, simetrik desenler oluşturmak için moleküllerin kendine özgü doğasından kaynaklı yüksek derecede düzenlenmiş bir yapı açıklamaktadır. Bir kristal yapı, ünite hücreler olarak bilinen, sonsuz yinelenen 3D 'kutular' dizisi olarak düşünülebilir. Birim hücre, asimetrik birimi olarak bilinen moleküllerin mümkün olan en basit gösteriminden hesaplanır. Asimetrik birim, simetri işlemleri ile birim hücreye çevrilir ve elde edilen kristal kafesi, birim hücrenin sonsuza kadar 3 boyutlu tekrarlanmasıyla oluşturulur.
