Avrupa Zaferi Günü
Avrupa'da Zafer Günü, genellikle V-E Günü, VE Günü ya da sadece V Günü, Nazi Almanyası'nın silahlı kuvvetlerinin koşulsuz teslimiyetinin İkinci Dünya Savaşı Müttefikleri tarafından resmen kabul edilmesini işaretlemek için 8 Mayıs 1945'te kutlanan resmi tatil günleri idi. Dolayısıyla İkinci Dünya Savaşı'nın sona ermesi Avrupa'da olmuştur. 30 Nisan'da Nazi lideri Adolf Hitler, Berlin Savaşı sırasında intihar etti. Almanya'nın teslim olması bu nedenle halefi Reichspräsident Karl Dönitz tarafından yetkilendirildi. Dönitz başkanlığındaki yönetim Flensburg hükümeti olarak biliniyordu. Askeri teslim olma eylemi 7 Mayıs'ta Fransa'nın Reims kentinde ve 8 Mayıs'ta Berlin, Almanya'da imzalandı.
