Gerilim, elektriksel potansiyel farkı, elektrik gerilimi veya elektrik basıncı, iki nokta arasındaki elektrik potansiyel farkı veya iki nokta arasında taşınan birim yükün elektrik potansiyel enerjisindeki farktır. Gerilim, yükü iki nokta arasında hareket ettirmek için bir statik elektrik alanına karşı ünite şarjı başına yapılan işle eşittir. Bir voltaj, bir enerji kaynağı veya kayıp, kullanılmış veya depolanmış enerjiyi temsil edebilir.
