Batı Ghats
Batı Ghats, Hint yarımadasının batı sahiline neredeyse paralel uzanan bir dağ taşıdır. UNESCO Dünya Mirası Listesi ve dünyadaki biyolojik çeşitliliğin sekiz "en sıcak noktasından" biridir. Bazen Hindistan Büyük Kesilmesi denir. Aralık, Deccan Yaylasının batı kenarı boyunca kuzeyden güneye doğru uzanır ve yaylası, Arap Denizi'ndeki Konkan adıyla dar bir kıyı ovasından ayırır. Milli parklar, vahşi yaşam alanları ve yedek ormanlar dahil olmak üzere toplam otuz dokuz özellik, Kerala'da yirmi, Karnataka'da on, beş Tamil Nadu ve dört Maharaştra olmak üzere dünya mirası alanları olarak belirlendi. Menzil, Tapjı nehrinin güneyindeki Gujarat ve Maharashtra sınırının yakınında başlar ve Hindistan'ın güney ucunda Kanyakumari'de biten Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu ve Kerala eyaletleri boyunca yaklaşık 1,600 km'dir. Bu tepeler 160.000 km2'yi kaplar ve Hindistan'ın yaklaşık% 40'ını boşaltan kompleks nehir drenaj sistemleri için toplama alanını oluştururlar. Batı Ghats, Deccan Yaylasına yağış yağdırıyor.
