Hermann Weyl
Hermann Klaus Hugo Weyl, ForMemRS (Almanca: 9 Kasım 1885 - 8 Aralık 1955) Alman bir matematikçi, teorik fizikçi ve filozofdu. Çalışma hayatının büyük kısmını Zürih, İsviçre ve daha sonra Princeton'da geçirmiş olmasına rağmen, Göttingen geleceği matematik geleneği David Hilbert ve Hermann Minkowski tarafından temsil edilmiştir. Onun araştırması teorik fizik ve sayı teorisi de dahil olmak üzere tamamen matematik disiplinleri için büyük önem taşımaktadır. Yirminci yüzyılın en etkili matematikçilerinden biriydi ve ilk yıllarında İleri Araştırmalar Enstitüsünün önemli bir üyesiydi. Weyl, uzay, zaman, madde, felsefe, mantık, simetri ve matematik tarihi üzerine teknik ve bazı genel çalışmalar yayınladı. Genel göreliliği elektromanyetizma yasaları ile birleştirmeyi düşünen ilk kişilerden biriydi. Kuşağının hiçbir matematikçisi Henri Poincaré ya da Hilbert'in 'evrenselciliğine' başvurmaksızın, Weyl herkesten daha yakın geldi.
