Yoga (Sanskritçe: योग telaffuz (yardım · bilgi)) beden ve zihni dönüştürmeyi amaçlayan fiziksel, zihinsel ve ruhsal uygulamalar veya disiplinlerdir. Bu terim, Hinduizm, Budizm (Vajrayana ve Tibet Budizmi dahil) ve Haina yoga ve Raja yoga olarak bilinen en ünlü jainizm alanlarındaki çeşitli okul, uygulama ve hedefleri belirtir. Yoga terimi, atların ya da öküzlerin bir araya gelmesinin "birlikte boyunduruk altına alma" kelimesinin anlamından kaynaklanır, ancak zihin ve bedenin "boyunduruk altına alması" na uygulanmaya başlanmıştır. Yoga'nın kökenleri, vedik öncesi Hint geleneklerine dayanıyor olabilir. Yoga uygulamalarının en eski hesapları Budist Nikayalarda bulunur. Patencarali Yoga Sutralarında 400 CE civarında paralel gelişmeler kaydedildi; bunlar, öncül felsefi spekülasyonları ve MS 1. binyılın çeşitli çingene uygulamalarını Samkhya felsefesiyle birleştiriyor. Hatha yoga ilk binyılın başlangıcında tantra'dan çıktı. Hindistan'dan Gurus daha sonra 19'un sonlarında ve 20. yüzyılın başlarında Swami Vivekananda'nın başarısını takiben batıda yoga tanıttı. 1980'lerde yoga, batı dünyasında bir fiziksel egzersiz sistemi olarak popülerleşti.
