Cymes - çoğu Yahudi yemekleri için ortak bir isim olup, çoğunlukla bir çeşit tatlı olarak kullanılır. Polonya'nın orta ve doğusundaki cimlere genellikle çanak denir; bu yiyecek genellikle şeker kızarmış havuç içeren tatlı gulaştır. Cymes genellikle turuncu veya kırmızıdır ve her zaman tatlıdırlar. Ana yemek olan ve et ve yalnızca sebze ve meyveleri içeren ve tatlı olarak sunulan çeşitleri içeren cymes türleri vardır. Cymes, podsmażanej havuç patates, domates, kuru üzüm, sığır eti, tavuk, ananas, elma, kuru erik ve içerebilir ek olarak genellikle her şey, sadece kullanışlı koşer olduğunu ve kızarmış tatlı havuç uymaktadır. Eski Galiçya'da, cymes'e bazen elmalı turta, vanilya sosu, kuru üzüm ve tarçın ile pişirildi. Galicia'da, puding veya Paskalya tavşanına benzeyen cym'ler de vardı. Cymes, çoğu Yahudi bayramında tatlı ya da ana yemek olarak, ancak sevimli tabiat için yedi.

Cymes – wspólna nazwa kilku potraw żydowskich, które najczęściej podaje się jako rodzaj deseru. Cymesem w środkowej i wschodniej Polsce najczęściej nazywano potrawę, która jest rodzajem słodkiego gulaszu, najczęściej zawierającego w swoim składzie podsmażaną marchewkę. Cymes ma zazwyczaj barwę pomarańczową lub czerwoną i jest zawsze słodki. Istnieją rodzaje cymesu, które są daniem głównym i zawierają mięso oraz rodzaje które zawierają tylko warzywa i owoce i są podawane jako deser. Cymes, oprócz podsmażanej marchewki może zawierać ziemniaki, pomidory, bakalie, wołowinę, kurczaka, ananasa, jabłka, suszone śliwki i ogólnie wszystko co jest koszerne, jest akurat pod ręką i dobrze komponuje się ze smażoną marchewką na słodko. W dawnej Galicji cymesem nazywano też czasem jabłko pieczone w cieście z sosem waniliowym, rodzynkami i cynamonem. W Galicji istniały też rodzaje cymesu, które przypominały pudding lub babkę wielkanocną. Cymes jedzony był jako deser lub danie główne w czasie większości świąt żydowskich, ale tylko tych o charakterze radosnym.
