Актіум був давньою назвою мису західної Греції в північно-західній частині Акарнанії, у гирлі Синус-Амбрачіу навпроти Нікополіса, збудованого Августом на північній стороні протоки. На мисі був давній храм Аполлона Актіуса, який був розширений Августом, який, щоб увічнити пам'ять про битву при Аціумі, заснував або оновив п'ятирічні ігри, відомі як Actia або Ludi Actiaci. Actiaca Aera був обчислення часу від битви. На мисі було невелике містечко, а точніше село, що також називалося Актіум.
