Альбіт - плагіоклазовий мінеральний полеводний шпар. Це натрій кінцевий член серії твердих розчинів плагіоклазу. Таким чином, він являє собою плагіоклаз із вмістом анортиту менше 10%. Чистий альбітовий кінцевий член має формулу NaAlSi3O8. Це тектоклікат. Його колір звичайно чистий білий, звідси його назва з латинського albus. Це є поширеною складовою у фелісних скелях. Альбіт Альбіт кристалізується з триклінічними пінікоидальними формами. Його питома вага становить приблизно 2,62 і має твердість Мооса 6 - 6,5.
