Алюмотермічна реакція
Алюмотримічні реакції - екзотермічні хімічні реакції з використанням алюмінію як відновлювача при високій температурі. Цей процес є промислово корисним для виробництва сплавів заліза. Найбільш видатним прикладом є термітна реакція між алюмінієм та оксидами заліза: Fe2O3 + 2 Al → 2 Fe + Al2O3. Однак ця реакція не стосується найважливішого застосування алюмогерметичних реакцій - виробництва феросплавів. Для виробництва заліза використовується дешевший відновник, кокс, за допомогою карботермічної реакції.
