Арагоніт
Арагоніт - це карбонатний мінерал, один з двох поширених, природно, кришталевих форм карбонату кальцію CaCO3. Він утворений біологічними та фізичними процесами, включаючи випадання з морських та прісноводних середовищ. Кристалічна решітка арагоніта відрізняється від кристалічної решітки арагоніта, що призводить до іншої форми кристала, орторомбічної системи з ацикулярними кристалами. Повторне твіннінг призводить до псевдо-гексагональних форм. Арагоніт може бути стовпчастим або волокнистим, іноді в розгалужених сталактитичних формах, що називаються флос-фери з їх зв'язку з рудами на карінтійських залізних шахтах.
