Артроскопія - це мінімально інвазивна хірургічна процедура на суглобі, в якій обстеження, а іноді і лікування пошкодження здійснюється за допомогою артроскопа, ендоскопа, який вставляється в суглоб через невеликий розріз. Артроскопічні процедури можуть бути виконані для оцінки або лікування багатьох ортопедичних станів, включаючи порваний хрящ, розірваний поверхневий хрящ, реконструкцію ACL та обробку пошкоджених хрящів. Перевага перед традиційним відкритим хірургічним втручанням полягає в тому, що суглоб не повинен повністю відкриватися.
