Зубрів великі, однотопні копитні в роді Бізон у підроботі Бовіна. Є два існуючих і чотири вимерлих виду визнані. З чотирьох вимерлих видів три були північноамериканськими: Бізон антикуський, Б. лафірон і Б. окіденталіс. Четвертий, зубровий сусок, коливався по степових середовищах із Західної Європи, через Середню Азію та до Північної Америки.
