Калориметр
Калориметр - об'єкт, що використовується для калориметрії, або процес вимірювання теплоти хімічних реакцій або фізичних змін, а також теплоємності. Серед найпоширеніших типів є диференціальні скануючі калориметри, ізотермічні мікрокалориметри, титруючі калориметри та прискорені калориметри. Простий калориметр просто складається з термометра, прикріпленого до металевого контейнера, повного води, підвішеної над камерою згоряння. Щоб визначити зміну ентальпії на моль речовини А у реакції між двома речовинами А і В, речовини додають до калориметра, і відмічаються початкові та кінцеві температури. Помножуючи зміну температури на масу і питому теплоємність речовин, ви отримаєте значення для енергії, яка виділяється або поглинається під час реакції. Поділяючи зміну енергії, скільки молів А присутня, дає ентальпію зміну реакції. Цей метод використовується переважно в академічному вченні, оскільки він описує теорію калориметрії. Це не враховує втрати тепла через контейнер або теплоємність термометра та самого контейнера.
