Кохлея
Кохлея /kɒk.lɪə/ є слуховою частиною внутрішнього вуха. У кістковому лабіринті - це спіралеподібна порожнина, в людини - 2.5 повороти навколо своєї осі, модіолуса. Компонентом основи у свердловини є орган Корті, сенсорний орган слуху, який розподіляється по камерах рідини, розділяючої перегородки, в конусну конусну трубку у свердловини. Назва походить від латинського для оболонки равлики, яка, в свою чергу, походить від грецького κοχλίας kokhlias, від κόχλος kokhlos з посиланням на його спіральну форму; ультразвукова свердловина намотана на ссавців, за винятком монопрем.
