Декамерон
Декамерон, під назвою "Принц Галехаут", - це збірка новели італійського автора XIV століття Джованні Боккаччо. Книга побудована як кадрова повість з 100 казок, розказаних групою з семи молодих жінок та трьох молодих чоловіків, які притуляються у відокремленій віллі, що знаходяться недалеко від Флоренції, для того, щоб уникнути Чорної смерті, яка страждала від міста. Боккаччо, ймовірно, задумав Декамерон після епідемії 1348 р., І завершив його 1353 р. Різні казки про любов у Декамероні варіюються від еротичного до трагічного. Мозаїка сприяє розповіді про дотепність, практичні жарти та уроки життя. На додаток до своєї літературної цінності та широкого впливу, він дає в той же час документ про життя. Написаний на просторіччі флорентійської мови, він вважається шедевром класичної ранньої італійської прози.
