У нирці трубчаста структура називається нефроновим фільтрами крові для утворення сечі. На початку нефрону glomerulus / ɡlɒmɛrələs / є мережею капілярів, яка виконує перший крок фільтрації крові. Глобура оточена капсулою Боумана. Плазма крові фільтрується через капіляри клубочка в капсулу Боумана. Капсула Боумана зливає фільтрат у трубочки, що також є частиною нефрону. Гломеруль отримує кровопостачання від аферентного артеріолу ниркового кровообігу. На відміну від більшості інших капілярних ліжок, клубочки витікають в еферентний артериол, а не венулу.
