Антигалаційна підтримка - це шари, знайдені в більшості фотоплівкових фільмів. Це, як правило, покриття на задній частині плівкової основи, але іноді воно поєднується між світлочутливою емульсією та основою. Світло, що проходить через емульсію, поглинається захисним шаром. Це запобігає тому, щоб будь-яке світло відбивалося назад через емульсію з задньої поверхні основи або з чогось позаду плівки та викликаючи галоподібний ефект навколо яскравих точок або країв зображення. Протирідний шар наноситься прозорим або вимивається під час обробки плівки. Відсутність антиголодального шару в кінокамере з високою швидкістю інфрачервоного випромінювання є причиною ефірного "сяючого" ефекту, часто пов'язаного з інфрачервоним фотографуванням, а не артефактом самого ІК.
